If you have concerns about the quality of care provided by an aged care service provider, you can make a complaint to the Aged Care Commission or the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The following information provides a guide on how to make a complaint to these regulatory bodies.
Lodging a complaint with the Aged Care Commission:
- Visit the Aged Care Commission website: https://www.agedcarequality.
gov.au/ - Click on the “Lodge a Complaint” button on the homepage.
- Select your category (care recipient, family member or friend, or concerned member of the public).
- Provide details about the aged care service provider and the nature of your concerns.
- You can choose to make an anonymous complaint if you prefer not to disclose your identity.
- Submit the complaint online or call the Aged Care Commission on 1800 951 822.
Lodging a complaint with the National Disability Insurance Scheme:
- Visit the NDIS website: https://www.ndis.gov.au/
- Click on the “Complaints” tab on the homepage.
- Select your category (participant, family member, or concerned member of the public).
